Select statement with labels in SQL Server

I'm running a select statement within SQL Server 2008 r2 on "SecurityRole". This table contains columns that have label references in them. I want to know if there is a way to pull the text stored in the label file that is being referenced within the column? Or is there a better way of doing that? Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Look here for an example of using metadata service to get label texts.

Ok well with 2012 you can use the metadata WCF service to retrieve labels. I'll have to look for the exact code if you want it, but it should be easy to find.

Alternatively, the labels are (even in 2012) still downloaded to the server's directory from the modelstore into an *.ALD file (one per label ID per language). These are plain text files so you could do some type of cross-reference using your API or tool of choice. (files are in 60/server/XYZ/bin/Application/Appl/Standard/*.ald

You can also export the label definitions (same as ALD file) from the AOT, by going to labels, finding the ID you want, then right-click on a language and exporting to a file.

First off, thanks for the quick reply!

We are running 2012. This would be a one-time thing.

    Thanks again!

Which version of AX are you running? With 2012, you can use the metadata system service. Also, is this a one-time thing or do you need a continuous integration for this?
