Hi Guys,

I have created a excel report using excel buffer.

For example : I have used two dataitems .i.e. Student & subject.

I want to add Dataitem link in between these two dataitems.

Is there is any way to do this.

    hi

To add a data item link between two data items in an Excel report created using Excel buffer in Business Central, follow these steps:

Open the report layout in the Business Central Development Environment.

In the Report Dataset Designer, select the data item that you want to link from (e.g. "Student").

In the Properties window, expand the DataItemLink property.

Click the ellipsis (...) button next to the DataItemLink property to open the Data Item Link Editor.

In the Data Item Link Editor, click the Add button to create a new link.

Select the data item that you want to link to (e.g. "Subject") from the "Data Item" dropdown list.

Choose the linking method you want to use (e.g. "Inner Join").

Specify the fields that you want to link on by clicking the ellipsis (...) button next to the "Link Fields" property.

In the Link Fields dialog, select the fields from the "Left Table Fields" and "Right Table Fields" lists that you want to use for the link.

Click OK to close the Link Fields dialog.

Click OK to close the Data Item Link Editor.

    Save and compile your report.

After following these steps, the data items should be linked in your report, and you should see the appropriate data in the Excel sheet generated by the report.

    Hello,

We currently do not have dedicated Dev support via the Dynamics 365 Business Central forums, but I wanted to provide you some additional resources to assist. If you need assistance with debugging or coding I would recommend discussing this on one of our communities.

I will open this up to the community in case they have something to add.

    Thanks.
