Does anyone use Crystal Reports as their Navision 5.0 (Server Version) external report writer?

Hi Alan,
There are a number of possibilities here. You can connect and report to Nav using ODBC / N/OBDC as long as you have it on your licence. This means that you can use Crystal reports via ODBC with Nav if that is your perferred reporting tool. Of cource Microsoft would recommend reporting services if you have a SQL deployment but if native, ODBC is the way to go and then crystal reports is a proven product.
Jet reports is Excel based. Excel does not have much of graphical design options, it does have drag and drop, but it's not as pretty as Access.
If you do not like working in Excel, the chances are you're not going to like Jet reports.
We actually have Jet Reports.
I had an online Jet training class and I was surprised that Jet seems to have its own code/syntax you need to learn. I was expecting a more graphical design option like Crystal or Access Reports (Drag and Drop fields into a report design).
I have used Access, FRx and Crystal in the past and find those to be much more intuitive and user friendly.
Do you recomend more extensive Jet training will change my opinion of Jet?
Thanks,
Alan
A popular external report writer with NAV is JetReports. It's much better than Crystal reports.
