how to deploy a security role from dev to test

we have created a new security where users were not allowed to modify the customization ,

we need to deploy this into test environment , can anyone please help me regarding this.

Very basic. I would recommend you spend sometime understanding CRM basics. docs.microsoft.com/.../solutions-overview

there is a thing called "solutions" in dynamics CRM using which you move your customisation from one environment to other.

you can do this for now :

settings > solutions > create solution > give it a name and version and chose the publisher. > from left side click on security role > add existing > select the role and click okay > save and close the solution > from solution area select the solution > click on export > export as managed or unamanged as per your choide > open target environment > go to solutions > click on import > chose the file > click next till last page and you will see the solutions deployed and its component - publish the customizations.

Create a New Solution, navigate to Security Roles section, click on Add Existing. Add the security roles you want to deploy between environments. Then usual solution export & import process.

Hello,

What type of security you need?

If it is security roles or field security profiles, please follow the instructions suggested by others

If it is teams or business units records, you have to migrate the data from one environment to anther. To do this, I suggest to use the "Data Transporter" plugin of XrmtoolBox to help you transfer entity records between different environments: www.xrmtoolbox.com/.../Colso.Xrm.DataTransporter

Hi,

Security roles can be deployed like all other components in CRM (eg, Entities), so just prepare a solution, from Add Exiting --> Security Roles and pick the required roles. then export to import into your Test environment

Hi Teddykrish,

You can deploy security roles in two ways

1.

To deploy security roles from dev to test you need to login with System administrator

After login into crm using system admin, navigate to Settings -> Solutions

Create new solution and add those security roles that you want to deploy. Once adding it into solution do publish and export -> import it into test environment.

2. Else you can use Xrmtoolbox to deploy security roles as well.
