Hi Folks,
I am getting the 'catching-up' status for a dual-write map, how can I stop this mapping.
Has anyone come across this issue before?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks.
Hello Karn,
This is not an error, but system is resuming the export. You might have paused the table initially.
"While the status is Running, you can pause a table. All changes are then queued until you resume. When you resume, the table enters "catch-up mode" and plays back all the queued changes." as shown in the documentation below:

Thanks for the reply.
But how can I stop this mapping now? I am not getting any option to pause/stop the mapping.
This mapping is causing errors in other functionality as well
Thanks
Hi Karn, I am not sure if you can stop the mapping during catch up mode. Have you checked catch up errors?

Hi Mohit,
There are no catch-up errors for this mapping.
What happened was this mapping was in running state and we went in another direction for solutioning wherein the data entity associated with this mapping was no longer required, so we deleted the data entity in the development environment. After deployment, since this data entity didn't exist on sandbox env but the mapping was still running. So when we tried to stop the mapping it threw some error related to 'data entity doesn't exist' ,but when we tried to pause it, it went to catching-up state and now we are unable to do anything with the mapping.
In that case, I can suggest two options. Either rollback the change in Sandbox environment, so you get the data entity. Stop the mapping and then apply code package back to sandbox environment. Or Reset link in Dual-write and link again but depending on number of data entities in use, it can be more work, so better to go with first solution.
Thanks Mohit for the suggestion
Really appreciate it.
As suggested, I rolled back the changes in Sandbox environment and the data entity is available now in the environment, but still I am not able to stop the mapping, its still in 'catching-up' mode. Tried restarting services, refreshed entity, refreshed dual-write mappings, refreshed table on dual-write mapping but with no success.
Please check 'DualWriteProjectConfiguration' and 'DualWriteProjectFieldConfiguration' tables. Since, its Sandbox (Non-production) environment, you can try deleting that table map and fields from these tables. In case of any issues, you can refresh Database using Point In Time Restore from LCS. If removing from table level also didn't work then only option I know if to reset link and configure dual-write again.
