We use serial numbers on a few items. We have a new item that the serial number is 2 characters longer than the field in RMS. Is there a way to increase the field length?

(Sorry for the necro-reply, but if you have not gotten a solution yet, this is how I fixed the issue) In your xml file you should have a section under transaction details that looks somewhat like the following
(ALIGNMENT) "<~" (/ALIGNMENT)
(WIDTH) PageWidth * 0.29 (/WIDTH)
(TEXT) "Item" (/TEXT)
Just change the multiplier in the second line.

This would require a customization, but the flexibility is there.
