Audit log, why the environment admin could not have the privilege for download log

Here I would like to ask a explaination, that why the administrator of D365 sales instance could not have the pervilage for downloading audit log.

I would like to support that Export, configure, and view audit log records | Microsoft Learn in Purview .

But I could not understand, why administrator of D365 sales instance could not have the pervilage in purview by dault.

For current Azure Built-in role, D365 admin do not have the pervilage as well, only global role and secure role have it. Azure AD built-in roles - Microsoft Entra | Microsoft Learn

Does the product design team think there will be no azure AD or Office instance initalizated before D365-sales?

Hi Partner,

Because this audit is not inherently conducted in the dynamics product.

You have to assign the permissions in Exchange Online. This is because the underlying cmdlet used to search the audit log is an Exchange Online cmdlet.

Admins and members of investigation teams must be assigned the View-Only Audit Logs or Audit Logs role in Exchange Online to search or export the audit log.

By default, these roles are assigned to the Compliance Management and Organization Management role groups on the Permissions page in the Exchange admin center.

Global administrators in Office 365 and Microsoft 365 are automatically added as members of the Organization Management role group in Exchange Online.
