Capturing data during the Product Receipt of a Purchase Order...

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm looking to capture data (PurchId, ItemId, InventSerialId, et al) and throw that data into another table (custom) during the Product Receipt process.  Our users use WAX and receive the products into the system from an RF gun.  They then use the AX Client, open the purchase order > Receive > Generate > Product Receipt.

I'd like to sneak into the product receipt code and while it's doing it's receiving get the items that have been received and the data points I mentioned above and insert that data into another table.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Bob

What type of data do you want to capture? Invoice related or PO related or vendor related?

you could do this in a couple of places, since you are using WMDP I assume..... you could alter that menu and when you scan to receive and then select the PO line you want add the record to your new table....

or you could just wait on VendPackingSlipJour new records, when a new record gets inserted here you could then update your new table with elements from here....

have you looked at "Work audit templates"? I've struggled to find any documentation on them, but they're designed to support customisation of WHS workflows, and you can do data capture without development (so I guess that would be a good place to start from if you want to customise).

Actually I went to our WAX code and added it during receipt after the user enters the serial number.
