Hello, I’m learning GP and think it’s a great package.  I’ve gone thru most of the modules and now I’d like to play around with PSTL but I don’t have a subscription to Customersource or Partnersource.  Now that it’s free I was wondering if there is a way to download it so I can learn the additional benefits it offers.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

It should available in Dynamics GP installation folders. While installing GP it has options to install PSTL -

    Thanks

Hi, I only have a student version and it's not on the CD.  BTW, the version is GP10.

Only issue you are going to have is that it is not free in Version 10.  You have to be on Version 2010 with SP3 installed in order to access PTSL for free.

If you want to know how it works you cango to:  http://www.crgroup.com/

Corporate Renaissance Group created the changer tools that are in Great Plains.  You can play with their tools for Version 10 in the TWO, Inc. company and learn a whole lot more with a much better product.

help me out with PTSL = ? Professional Tools S? Library?

my GP is hosted in another state so I don't have access to the install CD's.  I have GP 2010 sp3.  Can I download PTSL from somewhere?

Am I reading Susan's post that PTSL = changer?  That would be an awesome tool to have in the tool kit.

    thanks!

    Hi Ian,

PSTL stands for the Professional Services Tools Library.

It is downloadable from Customer or PartnerSource for sure. I don't think it's supposed to be available anywhere else, but it might be.

If you do get it installed, be aware that there is not an automatic menu item to launch it. You need to add a window in the Project folder to your Shortcut bar.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

It is included on the installation media which can also be downloaded from customer or partner source. Leslie is correct that you need to add a window to your shortcut bar. Additionally, sa needs to add it, initialize tables and enter registration keys. The only place I have been able to find registration keys for version 10 or 2010 has been from my partner.

it looks like you cannot get it from customer source anymore

As of March 26th, 2012 Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft Dynamics SL Professional Services Tools Library (PSTL) is now available via your Microsoft Dynamics Partner as PSTL will no longer be available for download via CustomerSource or through the Professional Services team. Please contact your Partner of record for assistance with PSTL. Customers who do not have a Partner of record are encouraged to utilize Microsoft Pinpoint to identify a Partner.

You will need to go through your Partner to get the free version of PSTL for GP 10.

installed PTSL yesterday after getting keys from our VAR.

I don't know why this extremely helpful stuff is not included by default.  Perhaps I have to think that a really good VAR would know it was out there and free, and make a conclusion about my VAR.

    Ian,

PSTL is available by default in the newer version of GP as it is on the install media. What version of GP are you on?
