Extension development: access to file located in the extension folder

Hi to everyone,

I'm working with version 14 of business central on premise and with extension al development runtime 3.2.

Is there a way to access files within the application folder during runtime?

In particular I would like to access a xml file located in the application folder and put it in a BLOB field during the install of the the extension as part of a setup., but uploadintostream doesn't seem to work...

Is there a standard way to do this?

Thanks a lot,

I have the same question (0)

On a SaaS environment it must be an online URL because you have no access to local paths.

I will provide a blog post explaining how to do that.

Thanks for the reply, but how can I download it in the OnInstall trigger from an online url?

Does it need to be an online url? Can't I use a local shared path?

You cannoit embed a file in the app binary file and then download it from the binary. Normally you should provide the package to your customer or download it from an online url in the OnInstall trigger.
