Display Created By and Created On for Notes in Timeline

Hello,

I understand in the image below the highlighted fields are the Modified By and Modified On fields for the Note entity. I am wondering if there is a way to configure the timeline to display the Created By and Created On fields instead.

After reviewing the instructions for configuring the timeline at this link: https://www.journeyteam.com/resources/blog/how-to-customize-activity-timestamps-within-dynamics-365/ I did not find any relevant information for changing what fields are displayed for Notes in the timeline.

I am currently using version 9.1.24.11 of Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Scott

    Hello,

I was encouraged to review this solution: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/model-driven-apps/set-up-timeline-control#customize-a-card-from-within-timeline to change the data displayed in the timeline of entity forms.

I need to complete this task without the use of Power Apps. Is there any way that this can be done?

    Thank you,

    Scott

    Hi Scott,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Go to make.powerapps.com and get in the edit page of your form.

    2. Select the timeline component on form.

    3. Find "Record settings" in the right panel and target "Notes" under Record settings, Click the "Default form".

    4. Change the "Data field" to Created By and created on.

    5. Publish all the changes.

Finally, once your issue is resolved and my suggested answer has helped, please do not forget to click Yes under "Did this answer your question?" to close this thread.

    Thanks

    Hello,

My version of Dynamics 365 does not have the same tools available that are required to follow the recommended instructions in power apps. Is there anyway to complete this task using the classic entity form editor?

    Thank you,

    Hi Scott,

If you can access the classic editor you can also access the modern editor too.

    use like link: make.powerapss.com

It should work and let us know.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Below is a screenshot of the application I am currently using.

It is an older version of Dynamics 365 that does not include power apps. I have no way of accessing or modifying this form from within make.powerapps.com.

Is there anyway I can change the contents of the Notes displayed in the timeline without the modern editor?

    Thank you,

    Scott
