Inventory Aging Report

Posted on by 660

Can someone help me regarding how the on hand value is calculated in the inventory aging report.

We have a scenario where the inventory closing is done on a monthly basis and there is an item which was received in the month of August but invoiced in the month of September. We would like to understand how the inventory on hand value is calculated in the system.

Hi, does this report inventory aging look from as on date in the past and then show how the value evaluates in the future (0-30 dg), (0-60dg), (0-120dg)?

    Hi Binit,

How AX is doing all that depends on the Inventory model that you have set on your Item model group(s). For learning there, I recommend this Hands On Lab:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../courseHOLCIVAX2012

    and the TechNet pages:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../gg213716.aspx

And of course, we can always help here with specific questions.

    Hi Binit Shah,

Would this then be something to suggest MS to improve through MS connect?

As you are on AX2012, have you tried making use of the Standard AX cubes that might be able to give you more and 'better' data for your analysis?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    RE: Inventory Aging Report

    Dear Ludwig,

The video is very basic and only covers a standard scenario where the user creates 2 different purchase orders, sales orders, closes the inventory and then runs the report.

In real there are multiple purchase orders, sales orders  for different periods, status of the sales order and the purchase order changes each month and then the inventory closing is performed in all the months.

In such complex scenario I am not able to match the inventory value as per the report with the transactions posted.

    Hello Binit Shah,

Please have a look at the Video from MS on the inventory aging report available here:

    This should answer your question.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
