Quick Query Viewer TRIALLOC?

Posted on by 940

The Quick Query Viewer under Administration - System Manager - Maintenance produces system message 6814  - You have reached the maximums access for this modules in Trialloc mode.  How do I get it out of trialloc mode?  I was under the impression that this module did not require a license.  Since I am still able to use the  Quick Query screens under Administration - Quick Query views, I suspect this is a bug?

Thank you

Steve Wierenga

    Hi Steve,

Does this mean QQ Editor license is excluded  while migrating ?

    Thanks..

    Agnes,

When you get your license keys for 2011, MS will include a license key for QQ which will give you access to the QQ's for the modules you are licensed to use.  In my case, I missed adding the QQ license key after upgrading.  Once it was entered, the TrialLoc message issue was resolved.

    Hi Darin,

My customer is upgrading their 65 into 2011.

Does this means that, QQ license is excluded and I need to request them to buy additional QQ license into their upgraded 2011 ?

    Rgds,

    Hi Steve,

There is a separate key for Quick Query – the QQ key.  If you do not have the QQ module and you believe they should have it or you would like to purchase it, you may contact MBSSales operations regarding the QQ module.

It appears the way the licensing works, you can access the built-in Quick Queries that apply to the modules that you have rights to but you cannot access the built-in Quick Queries for modules that you do not have rights to.  You also cannot launch the Quick Query Viewer via the System Manager module as that would require a QQ key.  This is how the application restricts you to only those QQ views for modules that you have access rights to as they are considered “part of” AP, AR, GL, etc…

I hope this helps better explain what you are seeing.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Darin
