Supress download of log files

A security audit has identified the downloadable log file which is available from the generic CRM error dialog as possible security risk, as it can provide insight into system objects and information.

Is it possible to log this information somewhere else, still notify the user an error has occured, but not allow download of the log?

Hi partner,

You could try to disable the following permissions.

1. "Sync Error" in Core Records tab.

2."Trance" in Core Records tab.

3."Response Error" in Customer entities tab.

4."SDK Message" in Customization tab.

5."Plug-in Trance Log" in Customization tab.

Thanks for the response.

This may stop the logging option, however, we still need to view these errors for support purposes - is this possible?

Hi Kiwi,

As far as I konw, Dynamics 365 error logs have multi types like Business Process Error, Java Script Error...

so I suppose that there is no way to control the error message download permission in D365.

You could also raise a ticket to Microsoft Team for more professional help.
