All the forms or one of them?  I can't selectively set it for two (less than all but greater than one) forms?

    Hi

Yes, you are right, you can set a Business Rule to work on One Form, or all the forms, it does not have any multi-select sort of options to say only run on two forms not all .

If you want the same rule on two forms not all forms, then you can Save As and create a copy of it and set the second form.

    Hi,

Your concern is valid, but logically I cant see anything wrong here. There are very few scenario even i am not aware the scenario when you would have same  fields  in different forms  with same logic for  selective forms.

All forms means you need to  have the all fields associated with BR in different forms , if you don't have fields in other forms ,  even if you set the all forms you will not have any impacts setting all forms. So you can set all forms in that case instead of create copy if BR.

If you really need selective forms then you need to create copy of same BR .

    Thanks for looking!

"...even if you set the all forms you will not have any impacts setting all forms."  An opinion that most would come to if the Microsoft documentation bothered to note that forms missing the addressed fields would behave well.  But it is up to use to unit test their product for them.

Yes agreed with you , I am sure you know that there is another scope called "Entity"  , which means the rules run in server side , which is also does not depends on any forms whenever your condition get match it will apply in server side . "All forms "means that whenever business rules associated fields are available  in the forms , you can see the changes ,otherwise not. You can do the test if you have any doubt.

When you set "All Forms" or for particular forms the rules basically works at client side and not server side , so there is no chances to fire the Business Rules  in the foams if there is no fields available in the forms associated with BR.
