We receive the following error when accessing the Purchasing Homepage for Business Portal 5.1.

“The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized”

The following will make the setup intresting and I think it is related to how we have setup the SQL Server Reporting Library deployment

Dynamics GP 2010 R2 Database on Server 1

Business Portal 5.1 & SharePoint 2010 running on Server 2

SSRS Reports deployed in Native mode to SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 on Server 3

I have tried to add a Dynamics GP report Viewer web part manually and pointed to report which when I run via Internet Explorer works ok.

http://<SERVERNAME>/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fSCATL%2fPurchasing%2fCharts+And+KPIs%2fTop+Items+by+Purchasing+Shipment+Quantity

Using the above path , this brought back the same error

    M,

Thanks for using the newsgroups.  You do have a complicated deployment.  I listed my questions and comments below.

    • Question:  You mention this error,  “The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized”.  Does the actual web page throw this error, or is it a web part throwing this error?
    • Comment:  What type of authentication are you using?  If you wish for your user's identity to be maintained in the current configuration when the requests are transferring from one machine to the next, you'll need to configure Kerberos.  You could get by with NTLM, but you'd have to simplify your configuration (take out one or more hops) and hard-code your SRS data source or configure it to prompt for credentials.
    • Question:  When you test the Dynamics GP report viewer web part, what machine are you using?

    Thanks

    Rob
