CRM 2011: Problem closing opportunity

Hello. I'm new here!

I've a problem in Dynamics 2011:

- in my organization there are 60 agents with a relative business unit (total 60 business unit).

- The agents have their own quotes and accounts. With the security role "agent", they cannot see other agents accounts and quotes.

- The only entity shared with security role in organization level is Opportunity in read and write mode. For some Company reason, the agents can see all opportunity. The agents cannot write to other agents opportunity blocked by JAVASCRIPT customations in the main opportunity form. This choice was maded to permit agents to close an opportunity if won with CRM standard procedure.

The problem is:

- Agent "A" make Opportunity "O" and a quote "Q1"

- Agent "B" make a quote "Q2" with opportunity "O" reference

- Agent "A" win the quote and want to close the opportunity.

At this point the system returns an error: "Sales Force automation error"

This is caused because the Agent "A" user trying, with CRM procedures, to close all quotes of the opportunity. But he can't manage the Q2. Q1 become "Won" but the opportunity remain open.

Exist a method (customization or not) to close an opportunity without manage quotes? Or are there other solutions?

Thank you very much

Matteo V

    Hi,

You can create a plugin or custom workflow.

Trigger when quote close as won then use admin service to deactivate the rest of quotes.

    Hi Wei Jie Fun

    Thanks for your answer!

But with your method you manage all quotes. I want to close opportunity without manage quotes.

    OR

Is there a method to intercept (Javascript?) the quote win popup and disabled "close opportunity" flag?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Unfortunately, You don't have any other options with the scenario you described  :(

Unless you want to share the write permission to  Agent "A" in Q2 , this approach is more complex when more Agents create the quote in same opportunity.

So you can not even block the radio box "close opportunity" via javascript or in other ways?

    Hi,

i don't think javascript can do that because this is two different entities.

Plugin or workflow can do that, but you never able to close quote again, because CRM will always rollback if plugin or workflow throw exception.

I found a solution. I customize the AcceptQuote() quote standard to another function and i modify one row to deactivate the opportunity radio box in the dialog box :-) This is extremely customized but a solution for now...

    Thanks for all
