Data Management template doesn't work

Hi,

In D365 in Data Management, I can import e.g. csv file with some entity data. But if I first create the template and then apply this template in the data project, I don't get the same result. I get some strange error, that the file file contains duplicate rows.

I have also tried to compare both data projects in the DMF tables in database, but I didn't find any difference.

Any Idea?

Thanx, Radek

    Hi Radek,

How are you creating the template? Are you exporting a sample file using entity and then trying to import the same by putting your data in it or by some other way.

Which entity you are using for import. Please provide bit more info about your problem.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sangram,

as I saw, that it didn't work for the complex template, I created only the simple test example with the entity Buyer groups.

If I create the data project, choose the buyer group entity and say import, it works. But when I create first the template with the buyer groups entity and then apply this template in the data project, associate the file and say "import", it doesn't work.

    Regards, Radek

    Ok,

So as I understood- you are exporting a file using buyer group entity and trying to import the same but getting error.

At first - Check if your template has blank index values below your data rows.

Secondly - You can check unique index of staging table excluding 'DefinitionGroup' and 'ExecutionId' field and your template should not contain duplicate of these field combination.

As I checked Buyer group entity - only two fields are there 'GroupId' and 'GroupDescription' so there should not be any big issue in importing data for you. There might be some issue in data you are putting in template for other data entity(whichever you are using)

You can refer this link for additional details of template creation and import - us.hitachi-solutions.com/.../data-import-template

Hi, I found the problem and the solution. If I apply the template and associate the file, I become the question "Do you want to generate the mapping from scratch?" The import works only if I say YES. Otherwise I am not able to import the data in staging because of duplicity error.
