Void Check Entry : Error System Message 88

Hello everyone,

I have one problem and i maybe do all the things that came into my mind. i have the void check entry screen an i want to void one check, i select the account and then i scrolled down to find my check number, but when i select it i got and error " Check status is not pending, register again" OK button. My vendor its ok, the register in GL its ok. Indeed i compared all the database tables to find any difference between 2 records. The one with the mistake and the right one, and there is no difference. Hope someone can help me. I really apreciate it.

    Look at the status of the check document in question (using SQL query or Quick Query).  The void check screen will not allow you to void a reconciled check.  It is possible that you reconciled it or your AP is not set up to retain checks for reconciliation.

    Thank you Rick, i looked for the status, and it set it "O" as the other ones that i can select without problems. I compare every field with one that had no problema to void it. and i get the same error message again when i selected it. Hope anyone have other idea.

    Did you check to make sure you do not have another void check batch in a non-released status (H,B,S) that may be already trying to void this check?  The check will not be available to a new batch if already selected under another batch.
