BC Cloud Read-only replica database

Looking to upgrade to BC Cloud.
From my reading BC 24 will automatically support a read-only replica database where all data queries will be pointed to.
 
I can't seem to find documentation on how MS sets up the back end databases for both production and the replica.
 
From my understanding what will happen is MS will create 2 Azure SQL databases, one for production and one for the replica.
 
All users will interface with production, while PBI will connect to the replica database.
 
Questions now are:
1. Will we be able to see the 2 SQL databases in Azure?
2. How often is the refresh/ update of the replica DB? Different vendors say different things on how often it is refreshed. No clear answer from whom we've discussed with. We want a near real-time update of PBI in BC and sharepoint for dashboards, and score cards, 
3. Are we going to utilize for double the storage for the data now compared to how old/ on-prem BC works?

    The replica is created and maintained for your BC Saas Production database. Queries are sent there, if they implement DatabaseAccessIntent ReadOnly.
    The replica is a couple of seconds 'behind' the production database, so it basically contains the same data.
    If performance is high, queries can still be sent to the live/production database instead of the replica.
    You can not see the database in Azure, there is simply no database access at all. You need to use/create API Query objects, which is very simple.
     
    There's no point and it's not possible to have 'live' or 'real time' PBI reports. Simply set the refresh shedule and in PBI pro you can then refresh 8 times per day, which is more then fine. With a PBI Premium license, you can refresh more often.
     
    To be honest, BI means business intelligence, and is 'never' real time. Do you need 'real time' reports then use/create report objects, or use Analysis on list pages.
