Hey,

I have out of box follow  button in my ribbon workbench  in an solution I am trying to hide it.

1-in the designer it is not showing me as hidden so that I can select hide option.

2-even if I try copying it and moving to another group(which results in creation of a  customized copy i am not able to hide again) though I dun want to have a custom copy.

3-Changes are not reflected  may be because I get am getting warnings for some of my Home grid controls that Alt property has not been set but I cant set it because these are inbuilt buttons. to set them I again will have to use Customize button command.

Is there any possibility that any custom rule is applied on the  follow button.

If yes, where  I can find it

Please help I am very new to Crm

Have you tried to hide ribbon button using ribbon workbench tool?

    Hi Pallavi,

If you want to hide the Follow button, I would suggest you to edit the Security Roles and Privileges.

Open the Security Roles assigned to the person and remove the Privileges to Follow from Core Records Tab (shown below)

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for your response. Yes I am doing it through workbench tool.

The follow button in the workbench doesn't show up as hidden but the same is not visible on the front end, is there any way I can make it display without adding a new entity rule

    Thanks

    Hi Mithilesh,

    Thank you for you response.

I am sorry I guess I miss framed the question.

The follow button in the ribbon workbench tool shows it as visible but on front end I am not able  to see it. If I do any customization changes and publish it  shows me warning like Empty display label found for property 'Alt' for Id=""(different controls), I cannot edit these properties(out of box controls) without customizing them(which I don't want to).  I am confused how to remove these warnings and then see if the see why the button is not shown up in the front end

    Thanks

    Pallavi,

Check the Security Role Privilege for the User, as posted earlier.

If the Ribbon Workbench shows the Button, but on the UI you cannot see it, that is because of the Security Role.

I would suggest you to check the Privileges.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have just checked the  security roles, the read access is at organization level only so I should be able to see it at front..

    Hi,

I have also faced this issue once but that was for the new custom button, but after providing description for this property, I was able to see my button. As this is just a text description, there won't be any issue you can simply provide text for this property and you should be able to see this button after publish.

    Pallavi,

Are you using OOB Entity or Custom Entity.

The ability to follow a record depends on whether Activity Feeds or Yammer has been enabled for the entity.

If either of these components have not been enabled, the Follow button will not appear.

    Please check that as well.
