I was looking for something similar to this: https://semver.org/

but adapted to the four number system that Business Central extensions have. I found something like this:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/administration/version-numbers

But it doesn't explain what the <build> and <revision> are used for.
Is there any documentation anyone knows of or rules anyone follows?

Hi, as far as I know, there are no clear regulations for Business Central and it is up to the partners or developers to make their own decisions.
