Configuration Package and Item Units of Measure

I'm having trouble with a Configuration Package.
 
Case in point, the attachment below.  This was an attempt to import into the 99000852 table (Demand Forecast Entry).
 
Yes, the Unit of Measure Codes given to me in this package's source file spreadsheet were wrong.
 
But, when I try to change the incorrect "EA" to the correct "FT", it doesn't want to believe me.  The error states that FT is not in the Item Units of Measure table.
 
Indeed, "FT" is in the Item's Unit of Measure "screen" and it's the only Unit of Measure Code in this "screen"!!!

    You can edit the excel file and re-upload.
     
    There are also a lot of connected Item tables. You need to make sure for that Item (BL15) that both UoMs are added to that item in the Item UoM table (Table 5404): 
     
    And you need to make sure its also loaded in the Unit of Measure table.
     
    If that all fails here is what I would try. Disable validation on that field in the configuration package:
    That picture above is a different table but the same logic applies. Disable the validation and then upload the excel file for the configuration package.

    Hello John,
    This is most likely a configuration-package field processing order issue, not that FT is missing. The Unit of Measure Code validation checks the Item Unit of Measure using the current Item No., so if the package processes the UOM before the Item No. has been validated, Business Central searches with the wrong or blank item and returns this error. In the configuration package, open Table 99000852 > Fields and set the processing order so Item No. is processed before Unit of Measure Code, then reimport/process and apply the data. As a last resort, you can clear Validate Field for the UOM field, but I would avoid that because it bypasses standard validation; Microsoft also recommends configuration packages mainly for initial company setup rather than transactional imports into production.

    Hi John,

    If you're importing through a Configuration Package, one thing you can check is Table > Fields for the package and see whether Create Missing Code is enabled for the field. This option can automatically create missing values for certain lookup tables during import.

    Hi John,
    the field level error is misleading you a bit, it is not checking "the" units screen in general, it check per item. FT has to exist as a unit of measure specifically for item BL15, not just be visible on whatever item card you had open. If you already see FT listed there for BL15 and it's still failing, check you are actually in the same company as the package import, I seen that trip people up more than once. Also worth checking order, if the config package tries to insert the Demand Forecast Entry before or in same run as the Item Unit of Measure record for BL15, the validation can fail simply because that record does not exist yet at that point in the import sequence.

    Quick thing to try, open Item BL15 card, Units of Measure action, confirm FT is really there with qty per base UoM filled in, not just showing on the Item Card lookup. If it's there and correct, look at your package's table processing order next.
    Cloud or on-prem, and are Item and Demand Forecast Entry in the same config package or separate ones?
