Entity Form not moving to the next step

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

I'm using the Custom Portal with a Dyn 365 instance. I've created a new web page, and associated that with a brand new entity form that's using a CRM form from a custom entity.

On the portal, I checked the box to Auto Generate Steps from tabs of the CRM form. The form has 4 tabs.

It works fne for the first and second tab, meaning that the first tab loads on the web page, and when I click next, it moves to the second tab. However, from there, even though I hit next, it's that same second tab with the data that keeps coming back.

I've emptied the cache, resarted the portal a couple of times, published customizations...  I don't know where to look for anymore!

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

    Hi Guillaume,

I don't thin the setting "Auto Generate Steps from Tabs" works. Could you try manually creating the steps for the remaining tabs as next step and see if it works?

    Hope this helps.

Did anyone get an answer to this issue?

    Having the similar problem.

Have 4 web form steps on a custom entity.

    Step 1 is my insert

Step 2 - 4 are edit steps which get results from previous step.

Have it set as the standard for Start new session on load = No and Multiple Records per user permitted = Yes.

When I click next after my insert step it processes and returns to a new inset step. I can see the session on web forms and shows it as on step 2, but portal showing as a new step 1 insert!

Now if I clear the cache by https://****.microsoftcrmportals.com/_services/about and then return to my web form it is on the correct next step which is step 2.

Seems to be some sort of caching issue on the web forms.

I have raised a ticket with MS but its getting nowhere fast and they are unable to recreate this. Disappointed in the level of service from MS on this to honest and we have premier support and i have been passed around 3 support engineers!

This is happening on all of instances and portals in our tenant, and have tried creating new web form steps with other entities and same problem.

I have created a trail version and tested with a custom entity with all the same settings and works as expected, moves nicely to next steps all the way to the terminal submission step.

If anyone has an answer would be greatly appreciated. I can provide screen dumps of this helps get an answer.

    Regards,

    Peter

I came across this thread because I have the exact same issue. Did you ever get a resolution or does someone know how to fix this?

Hi, thanks for your reply. However, my issue is not on the CRM side. It's on the Portals add-on side. I'm exposing a CRM form on a Portal (kind of a "contact us" form on website that automatically creates record in CRM for follow-up).

    Hi Guillaume,

Your issue seems to be similar to this blog : community.dynamics.com/.../604932

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks.
