Hi there, can any one please help me out for the issue. We are in the process of entering the OB in GP. when updating the sub-ledger for inventory in the inventory transaction , the mistake has happened in the posting date, instead of 2013 it is 2014. Is there a way to alter that after the transaction has been posted.
Another thing is one item cost has been posted wrong.

You'll need to reverse the inventory entry and re-enter it using the correct date. Use the cycle count tools to create a single transaction backing everything out and then import a new transaction using the correct date.
That would be the best way (and cleanest) in my opinion. Does this work for you?

If you have selected, no to post to the GL then the transactions in the batch you are doing now will only affect Inventory.
If you don't post to the GL any corrections done in Inventory then you will need to manually do them in the GL.
hi sir, Thanks for your reply, but i am updating the sub ledger now & have selected no to be posted to the GL. in this case it is not generating or posting anything in the GL. How i can solve this then.
The GL has been already updated with the total amount of inventory. (as an opening stock)
No, you can't change the posting date.
What you could do is, in the GL, create a correcting journal entry which backs out the original transaction and creates a correcting one which you can change details on; details such as the posting date and post the correcting entry into 2013.
Alternatively, you might need to remove the opening stock balances which would then reverse the entries on GL and then reload the inventory balances with the correct date.

No you can't change the posting date once it's posted.
