Advanced Find - On or After today's date

Hi!

I'm new to the board...and I can't seem to find a way to do what I am trying to do. My company has not upgraded, and are still on version 4.0 (4.0.7333.2747). I am trying to do exactly what this poster needed to do, but I do not have the "expired" option.

"In the Advance Find, for any date field, is there a way to specify Today date as the filter? For example, if I want to return all opportunities that are created on or after today, instead of actually enter 02/23/12 for today and tomorrow, I have to go in and update the query again to 02/24/12 and so on. I want the date to default to today date instead of manually update it everyday."

I want a view that shows all assignments with a due date "on or after" today...without having to change it everyday (which is obviously NOT IDEAL, or even plausible.)

HELP!

Monica

RE: Advanced Find - On or After today's date

    Laura,

Date in the last 5 years:

It includes today's date (and there is no way OOTB to exclude today) so doesn't answer the original post but should give you what indicate you now want?

If you want to exclude today you could have another field (on each activity type) that was updated each night (timeout or wait from when originally created or via a coded scheduled job) - and use that as an extra criteria in your advanced find search - as previously suggested.

It's a bit difficult for Activities - as you only get to see certain fields on the OOTB Activities view (i.e. you can't see custom fields or all fields).  Maybe you could hijack the 'Priority' field if you're not otherwise using it.  The following listed fields are the only ones you can use (and most of them have OOTB uses that are locked down / used by e.g. email / appointments / CRM behind the scenes).

Note: Some activity types e.g. appointments have locked down status reasons so updating Status Reason is unlikely to be an option.

It'd be much easier if you were looking just at Tasks, just at emails as separate lists (because you could then use a custom field) etc. for the filtering.

I see that the last reply is a little old.  Did anyone ever find a way to identify the date of "of or before today" in advanced find?  Thank you!  Laura

    Hi Laura,

You stumped me!  I don't think you can do this with Advanced Find.  However, you can do this with the hard-coded Due pick list in the Activities area.  Just change it to overdue, and it shows all activities that were due before today.

I am trying to do something similar, but want to do identify any activities with a due date before today.  I can figure out how to do it on or before today, but I dont want to include activities from today.  Any ideas?

    Hi Monica,

You can just combine two criteria --due today and due in the next X years...something like that.  Here is a screenshot example.
