It would depend on what the code in the chunk is. If it referred to anything that was changed for v10 it would break.
The other issue is the version numbering system built into GP, it might prevent a chunk from extracting if it was not for the correct version.
The recommendation is to transfer the code (using source code control) to the other version and then recompile, test in test mode, re-chunk and test in runtime mode.
I suggest you rebuild for each version you need.
