Location created when creating users to D365 F&O on-premise

Hi experts,

After completing the D365 F&O deployment, to create users to the D365 Users menu, do I have to create users in Azure AD first?

Or do I have to add users in on-premise AD?

If I just create users to the D365 Users menu without creating users in Azure AD, is there any way to pass authentication?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

for users in seperate AD either you can create trust at AD level or directly provide the domain in the provide e.g. sts.windows.net/<<xyz.com>>

You can only add users that exist in your AD. ADFS handles the authentication.
