Dear Chris
We have created a product that opens any Quickbooks database as a data source and allows you to import data into Dynamics SL through the appropriate screen. We use this product to convert new customers using Quickbooks to Dynamics SL or to import Quickbooks activity into a Dynamics SL multi-company database as a means to generate FRx consolidated financial statements. We are currently evaluating how we can make this product available to the Dynamics SL community to allow other implementers or customers to use this valuable resource. You can contact me (don@decarlosoftware.com) to discuss your situation and how we might work together to accomplish your conversion. Thanks Don
Hi Sandra,
Thanks so much for your assistance. We are currently waiting on our client to see if they are going to go ahead with this process. If they do and I need some assistance, I will reach out for you.
Thanks again!

As I don't know the size of your QuickBooks files, but I thought you should know anyways just in case, that after QuickBooks reaches a certion size that it starts to corrupt data and the reports don't always reflect what the data says.
Also, sometimes the corruption can get so bad that the Transaction table will not always agree with the other tables within QuickBooks. You may have to upgrade to a more recent version of QuickBooks prior to converting.
Another tip is to make sure you put a number on each chart of account within QuickBooks it makes mapping to SL Account/Subaccount easier. You can use MS Access to ODBC into QuickBooks and create the mapping tables there once you've decided on your SL Account/Subaccount structure. Then use MS Access queries for the conversion. You can also use MS Access to convert Customers & Vendor master data to SL Customer Maintenance and Vendor Maintenance via Transaction Import. Don't forget about data cleanup prior to conversion.
If you need any help feel free to ping me. Sandra Gregory
Thanks for the reply Sandra.
I will check it out.

There is a great tool call QODBC (http://www.qodbc.com) that allows you to ODBC into QuickBooks data (took me 2 months of searching on the internet to find)… This allows you to get to the primary key and all of the tables so that you can access data directly from the tables instead of using the reports from within QuickBooks.
Kind Regards,
