PTE Timesheet Approval

I'm trying to setup a user that has full visibility at all timesheets waiting to be approved (submitted). My GP user account has access to the navigation list and I am setup in workflow as the alternate final approver (GP account linked to AD account) but when a user submits their timesheet, I don't see the timesheet in the navigation list. Essentially I'm looking for some function similar to PDK where the Admin could see all timesheets.

That sounds like a great solution and one we may be able to use in the multiple companies we are using PTE in.  For us, I think we could set up an analyst responsible for each company as the Alternate Final Approver...thank you so much for the information on how you were able to resolve.

    Thanks for you reply Kristie.

I actually conferred with Isaac Olson from Microsoft and he suggested setting up a fictitious employee and assign this employee as a delegate for everyone. I associated my GP login with this employee and now the navigation list shows all timesheets.

I'm also working on a smartlist to who the assigned approver when the workflow is set up to use AD and Employee Direct Manager.

    RE: PTE Timesheet Approval

    Hi Pete72,

Because of the Active Directory relationship between employee and approver, I have not found a way to set up the admin to see all employees timesheets within the PTE setups.   I have not tried using the alternate final approver as part of our workflow process, so I cannot speak to how that works if you are not the employee's AD manager.

However, if you create views for your data and then create SmartLists using those views, you can achieve your goal, if all you are after is viewing the data.  You can do this so your managers also see the data using SmartList.  Be careful with how you build your views so you are not exposing salary or hourly information to all employees.  I created specific security roles for the two different views we built.  One group can see salary related information plus projects, cost categories and hours; the other group can only see the submitted timesheets, hours and project information.  Good luck.
