RE: Weigh Scale works with RMS

    Hello Jacub,

I tried the Type 0, 4, 5 and 6 with CAD PD II using SO OPOS supplied drivers and it didn't work. I even tried the weightronics OPOS and it didn't work. I was not able to able to enable the device using the weightronics utility, however, I was able to "OPEN" and

"CLAIM DEVICE" successful for some reason. I am using serial to USB cable and it came with its own driver [gigaware cable] which I installed but the scale is not working. Could you please help me set this up at your earliest convenience?

    Thanks,

    Pappu

This is due to it being single cable as far as I know but we only use dual cable setups. I unfortunately cannot help you with that part

    Thanks Jakub for the answer,

we saw the problem was with our scale, we have installed the Driver 1.13 and setup MagellanSC (single cable).

The only thing now is when we scan, it is coming S08 before the Barcode. Did you have something like this also?

    Thanks in Advice

RE: Weigh Scale works with RMS

You just need the driver supplied by Datalogic however you need to go in the registry and change the values like COM port number, single/dual cable, baud rates to match what you have set in the Magellan, metric/imperial weight etc

    Mine is located at

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLEforRetail\ServiceOPOS\Scale\RS232Scale

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLEforRetail\ServiceOPOS\Scanner\RS232Scanner

    I'm using Dual Cable

My scan sheet for setting up the device is:

    RS-232 Standard (Dual Cable)

    Enable Label ID

    9600bps

    8 data bits

    1 stop bit

    No parity

    Suffix - CRLF

Scale I leave setup in registry as 9600,7,E,1 (default)

I set my port to COM1 and in Metric I put 1 (since Canada is metric, if US you would leave at 0)

In scanner I setup in registry 9600,8,N,1

I set my port to COM2

In RMS I put the device names as RS232Scale and RS232Scanner respectively

Make sure you CheckHealth in the OPOS driver software Datalogic provides

Worst case, give them a call. They're very helpful there.

we have a Datalogic Magellan 8400, which Driver did you use for it? We installed already Datalogic Opos Driver, but stay getting no conection with RMS. Should we configurer OPOS Default Driver also?

    Thanks in advice

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. No, I actually used the built in OPOS driver from Microsoft and configured the scale to work with the NCI-ECR protocol (type 4 I think). The one made by CAS is garbage and actually doesn't let us certify the scale in Canada because it permits you to weigh at 0.000 kg and when the scale is in motion the OPOS driver sends a weight of 0. This is not permissible by Canadian Weight and Measures standards. So I found that the default scale driver from Microsoft works as it should.

We have used several brands over the years, but lately mainly Datalogic Magellan series, Single-Cable Serial.

    Hello Haemin,

Thank you for post and update.

Have you verified that the share opos device is enabled in Store Operations Manager  under File | Configuration | Options?

I look forward to your response.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

    Hi, Jakub Stroinski

when you install Cas pd scale, did you use CAS OPOS driver?

I am trying to hook up CAS PD2 with RMS. but getting an error

Waring 921 : A scale OPOS communication failure occured.

    Do you wish to countiue?"

do you have any idea ?

So far I have installed CAS PD-1, Weightronix 6720, Magellan and Datalogic scanner/scale combinations, and the new Kilotech KRS-SWP. All work well
