Incorrect Journal Transfer

Our Production user have regularly using Journal Transfer to move theirs production warehouse to our Sales warehouse.

but on random event, the journal post abnormaly in transaction. on Transaction, it said that the item stock is taken from Sales warehouse & then transfered to Sales warehouse back. so basically the stok inventory is just moving from & to the same place.

i have check the journal, all input seems to be correct from Production warehouse to Sales warehouse but the Transaction record show differently & inventory stock didnt moving as its transfering from & to the same place.

how should i check this to start with?

    Hi ITIPG,

    When you say 'randomly' does it mean that you cannot replicate the issue or do you see the behavior also in your test/dev systems?

    Can this be the result of a system modification?

    its not always happen but still it happen sometimes.

    I dont know if it also happen on others Transfer transaction but maybe because Production transfer transaction is the most routine task, so it had higher possibility to occur. To resolve the problem, i just tell my user to transfer it again as the inventory stock is still there & its working fine. So here im unable to replicate the issue.

    The only modification is that we have our own form for easier input to our user & from that form we create journal transfer automatically based on data in our form. we go to the created journal, validate, & post it. As im also check the problem journal, incase if i enter the wrong value to the warehouse from & to location, all input in the journal is valid from production to sales warehouse but when posted the transaction getting wierd as i mention before & again it happen on some random event that is not always. its not much, like maybe 1 or 2  a week comparing to the number of journal we create daily, but still it happen.
