Recurring importing of AR transactions

I have a prospect that will need to import both Payroll journal entries and AR invoice journal entries. Aside from using a third party import tool, like eOne SmartConnect, are there any out-of-the-box import options that can be used on a recurring basis? As I understand it, the Rapid Start tool will overwrite any existing data, and the Import from Excel only will import GL Accounts, Customers, Vendors, and Items.

Are there any other options?

For something like this it sounds like you might need to use an import tool like a custom one or something like the one you mentioned.
