Best way to store and display percentage field in CRM dynamics?

Hi,

This may seem like a trivial question, but I was wondering what was the best field type to store and display a percentage in CRM Dynamics entites / forms?

Also, in all the formats supported for the field types, am I correct that "Percentage" is not there? This is quite surprising to me. Also, is the only way to show a "%" field on the forms through a javascript hack?

    Hi Quite,

    Yes, there is no Percentage field type, since in the programming the data type percentage is we can't find, just based on decimal/float/integer/double only.

    It depends.

    You can use a Decimal: so that 1% will be 0.01, 10% --> 0.10, and so on.

    Or you can use Decimal/Whole Number as well, but stores as:

    Total (%) : 10

    Total Tax (%) : 15

    But, in the label, I suggest you to use (%) including this (%) in the label will help the users.

    Both are possible and will affect your calculation.

    For example:

    If you use 0.01 to type, then to get the total Discount for example, you have to use formula:

    fielddisc * totalprice

    = 0.10 * 8000

    = 800

    But, if you use the second one, you need to calculate and divide by 100.

    Formula:

    fielddisc * totalprice / 100

    = 10 * 8000/100

    = 800
