Is it possible to add additional approvers for general journal batches. for example, a colleague posts a journal and then i or another colleague could go in approve. currently we have only one person for the management accountants individuals batches but when they finish for the day no-one else can post which can prove fustrating at month end.

I have the same question (0)

to confirm - are you looking to have substitute approvers? i.e. person A is the approver but if person A is finished for the day, the request can be sent to A's substitute for approval which is B

or are you looking to have multiple approvers such as i.e. either person A or person B can approve, as long as one of those two approves the journal can be posted?

Hi, You can search for the usage of Workflow User Group, which is a standard feature.

    hi, preferably multiple approvers.

i know the substitutes is an option that we have but i dont see this happening except for long length holidays.

In that case you can do the following to have an approval workflow sent to 2 approvers but only 1 must approve prior to being able to post the journal:

    1. Navigate to the Workflows Page

    2. Open your General Journal Batch Approval Workflow

    3. Click on the Enabled field to disable it

    4. In the Workflow Steps FastTab click on the (+) Add record restriction

    5.  Select the 2nd line, in the Approver Type select Approver User Group

    6. Create a User Group that looks like the one below where you have 2 lines for the 2 users, the sequence of both lines must be 1

    7. back in the workflow, for the line where it says Pending Approvals:0 remove this filter so the line says <Always>

and delete the line that says Pending Approvals>0,

    it should look like this:

    8. enable the workflow back
