From everything I've read:
- Inventory is a must if you want costing / GL entries on items
- Non-inventory lacks most financial transactions
I work in discrete manufacturing and assembly. We manufacture products with screws, nuts bolts, that we:
- Need in a BOM
- Needs to roll up cost
- Needs to transact on GL account
- Needs to be included in planning worksheet
- Do not want to count / track
We have set these items to type of inventory , but that is problematic, as now we have 1000s of small assembly hardware to track in inventory.
If we set to non-inventory, we lose all financial implications of these transactions.
Is there a feature in BC to provide a happy medium? We are a discrete manufacturer that has many small kanban items that we need to buy and validate for finance, but not track inventory of.
