Extending the data import export framework

We are using several ISV and also adding custom fields to the AX database.  We have found that the fields are visible in the target table and we can add the fields to the staging DMF* table that corresponds to target table.

It appears that there is and XML table, DMFTargetXML table that needs to be updated before you and set the DMFTargetXMLToEntityMap(DMFTargetXMLToEntityMap).  The DMFTableXML cannot be edited in the AOT and I cannot find a job, class or method that updates this table with the newly created fields.

    Hi Donald,

If you delete the target entity (from the form target entities) and create it again it should be OK. You can also first try to regenerate the fieldmappings of the target entity.

thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately this did not work.  i deleted the customer target entities from the form. then created them again but the fields i am looking for are not visable.

I'm facing a similar issue. Were you able to resolve this? If so, can you provide some insight?

    Hi Guys,

    Check the corresponding Query.

If the Fields property "Dynamic" is set to "No" (which ist default in predefined entities as customerEntity) cannot generate the new fileds although they are part of staging and target table. When you set this property to "Yes" the query includes all fields from the target table and the filed mapping can be regenerated correctly.

    Regards

    Hi Zach...

I am also facing the same problem.... While i am trying to import the "CUSTOMERS", added  a new field for Standard  in Custtable, and in the Query(DMFCustomerTargetEntity) .

The field which i added is not visible in the Target Table.....

Do you know the solution ?

    Sreekanth.

    Hi Sreekanth,

Have you (re)generated the Target field mapping? If the field is added, but not mapped, it will not work either...
