Issue with installation of MS Dynamics SL 2011 / FP1 / SP2

Hi,

I am installing MSD SL 2011 for the first time and facing number of issues.

I am trying to install MSD SL 2011 SP2. I finish installing MSD SL 2011 successfully, but to install SP2 first I have to install FP1 for SL 2011 (As per my knowledge)

So when I try installing FP1 package it gives an error like 'SL 2011 Client is installed, uninstall it first', so if I uninstall SL 2011 client and then try to install FP1 again it gives multiple errors in installation wizard.

On some blog I read go with FP1 installation on plane System with SQL Server, I tried that way... but if I install FP1 it finishes successfully but it stops working when I start MSD SL 2011 exe, it says:

'Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 has stopped working', 

In event viewer I got below trace:

    you do not need sp2 on a SL 2011 FP1, you instal FP2 which is fix pack vs service pack. that's why it crashes on startup.

    Remove everything. You should not install 2011 FP1 over a 2011 RTM install. FP1 should be installed on a clean system. After FP1, run your SP2 pkg.

    I would try to clear everything you have done to this point before starting again..

    I am not getting any reference to download FP2 for SL 2011, could you please provide if you have any link to download it.

    Finally I reinstalled from scratch with OS as well. And installed only FP1 and SP2 on top of that. :)

    Well ... I didn't mean to do the OS ... but I guess that certainly will get rid of the stuff you messed up on the first try :)
