In AP Voucher & Adjustment Entry, we can paste the string "99500" into Proj Id. In GL JE screen, this fails with "item not found" due to the missing "dash". Both fields have a mask property of "UUUUUU" in Customization Manager. In Proj Ctrl | Flexkey, project is numeric with a mask of 99-999.
The above works in our client's current SL 6.5. It does not work in their test SL 7 SP 4 or SP 2011 from our internal testing.
Why does the copy/paste work in AP but not in GL? How can I make it work? This is required for our client who copies/pastes large amounts of CSV file data exported by external interfaces.
Could this problem get bypassed by Transaction Import instead?
