Benefit Self Service - licensing

Sorry if this is the improper forum, perhaps others in this group have a similar concern. One of our mid-sized customers has been pressing hard for Benefit Self-Service and we recommended that they wait until the Dynamics GP 2015 release.

I am very happy with what I see in the modules, but now I am unclear how to present to our customer. Employee Profile is no longer part of the registration keys for 2015 and all of the "Portal Type" extensions are also missing from the registration keys.

This customer has 1000 active employees in a calendar year, adding 60,000 to their GP licensing is not going to go over very well. With Business Portal and "unlimited" employee access (this is what they have read) how should we proceed?

RE: Benefit Self Service - licensing

    Hi Terry,

I'm sorry but I don't have access to this file on Partner Source... however, the piece of information I got from our partner seems confusing and not very clear.

Another issue I have right now is that after the installation of the 2015R2 update, I assigned one user to the new Self-Service license type and when trying to login, it says "sorry no license available, contact your administrator" and the fact is that I have 0 licenses available for this type of user.

How do I get those licenses activated ?

    Hi Brian,

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 has the full self service released in this product, from employee to Benefit Self Service, so if that is what they are interested in, yes, I would say GP 2015 is the answer.

The module piece of it is all free, but you pay for the user to access the data.

We did add a new self service user/employee type that is more reasonable than the original limited user price.

A great place to start with this is within the Transition Upgrade Policy listed here on PartnerSource.

If you have further questions I would reach out to the Business Desk.

    Thanks
