Inventory relieving at amount greater than cost

I have an inventory item whose standard and current cost is 8.35 each.  The item is set up for FIFO Perpetual.  All PO's issued for it have been at 8.35 each.  When I sell a unit and post the invoice, inventory is relieving for 9.40 per unit.  What is causing this difference?  What can I check?

Frank's suggestion is one way to see.   Another is the Purchase Receipts inquiry.   That window will show all the layers of inventory as well as the cost associated with each layer.   If the item is FIFO Perpetual, the standard cost field is not driving anything.   The current cost is the last received cost so the cost of other layers could be different.

Check Item Transaction Inquiry.  Look for any increase transactions other than receipts, or possibly a cost adjustment transaction.
