inconsistance with invoice numbers

Dear All,

I have since this year an inconsistance with the invoice numbers.

I have seen that when creating a sales invoice and AX is cancelling the posting for a reason (location missing, sales tax not in order) he jumps to a next number after i corrected the error but leaves one number unused.

No idea why this is happening.

THANKS for the help !

Ralf

This is the normal behavior of number sequences that are not continuous.  Inspect your number sequence for Customer invoice found under Accounts receivable, Setup, Accounts receivable parameters, on the Number sequence content page.  I believe you can simply check the Continuous checkbox on that number sequence and it might just reclaim those numbers and use them again.  Generally continuous number sequences are supported in forms and such, but sometimes they work in posting operations also.

    Hi Ralf,

If you jump to the number sequence and click the "history" button, can you see the numbers that are "hanging"? In the "clean up section of the number sequences form is there a clean up interval setup?

Thank you for this , I have seen that the continuous box was not checked.

    Hey Ludwig.

Yes, I did setup a clean up interval (suggested by AX ) of 24 !

    (Whatever that means ... ) :-)

But clicking the HISTORY button doen't give me any numbers that are hanging ..

MAybe with further invoicing now and that the continuation bos is ticked, it will take the missing numbers by itself ...
