Print/Email Posted Credit Memo Gives Report 0 Error

(3) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 10
Hi,

When I attempt to Print/Email a Posted Credit Memo in my Business Central Dynamics 365 environment, I get the following error:

Error message:
You tried to invoke the Report object with the ID 0 from the object Report Selections. An object with that ID does not exist in the current application compiled with emit version 25049.

I checked the Report Selection - Sales page, and for Credit Memos it was indeed set to use report 0, so I switched it to 1307 which I believe is the correct report, however I still get the error. Has anyone else experienced this, and got a solution?

I have the same question (0)

Hi there & good morning/evening/afternoon - depending on where you are :)
This error happens when BC is attempting to use a report with ID of 0 which doesn't exist - although i see you've already set it to 1307
here are some suggestions & apologies if you've tried this already:
    • just double check the report selection is truly saving to correct ID 1307 and make sure there are NO OTHER entries with a report ID of 0
    • clear your cache as sometimes report selections may not take immediate effect
    • check permissions to ensure user has necessary permissions to run the report as sometimes permission issues may lead to errors
    • check for a later version of BC to update to if possible - sometimes patches, fixes help with these pesty errors
    • if you are using a custom report layout, just ensure they are correctly configured and no issues with the customizations

    hope this helps some!

Please try to check if there are any document layouts setup for that customer where it was set to zero, if so delete that record.

It looks like BC is still referencing report ID 0 despite updating the Report Selection. check if the Report Selection change was applied to the correct environment and company. verify if any extensions override the report selection logic.

Most probably you changed the report selection company wide, but the specific customer under customer document layouts has an entry for the credit memo report with a blank report ID. I would check there first.
