ask - inventory account affected by - General Ledger

Hi there,

need help. I need to track down one of our account. that account is IV account.

in the beginning balance, balance on GL Trial balance same with IV trial balance and IV valuation.

but, in the last balance, balance on GL trial balance different with IV trial balance.

no unposted transaction, no unreleased transaction for IV transactions. IV trial balance and IV valuation is same.

So I Need to track down. kindly please help me:

1. Where I need to begin?

2. what transactions which affect that account (IV account)?

    Hi

    Use the below methods to identify the direct GL entries..

    1)  Execute the following Query in SL Application database

    Select BatNbr, RefNbr, Acct,Sub,TranDate,TranDesc, TranType,PerPost, DrAmt, CrAmt From GLTran Where Module='GL' and Acct ='XXXXX'

    XXXXX- Inventory Acct

    Or

    2) Open the Detail General Ledger Report for the problematic period and in the selection grid you can enter the below condition.. to generate the report to identify the direct GL entries

    vr_01620.accthist_acct           EQUAL  XXXXX- Inventory Acct

    vr_01620.gltran_module        EQUAL  GL

    Then you can verify the balances..

    hope someone still monitor this thread.

    how Dynamic SL calculate Inventory trial balance? I tried to calculate from intran table, but different.

    I think the way of calculation for IV TB is not same with GL TB,

    hi, thanks for reply.

    1. I found that this account also registered to in-transit account on IN setup. is this affected?

    then, how to:

    2. check Any direct GL entries for Inventory Account has been involved

    3. if my first question is yes, then can I separate balance for truly inventory account, and for in-transit account?

    Have u considered / verified the following scenarios?

    1) All the Inventory batches were released and posted to GL?

    2)  Any direct GL entries for Inventory Account has been involved?

    hi. thanks for advice. but the report can't determine the problem.

    still figuring out, why the balance so much different, between GL trial balance and inventory trial balance. because in the beginning, the balance is same.

    You should check report GL edit, may be someone change or delete some transactions

    Hi,

    balance on IV trial balance and IV valuation is same. but not on the GL balance for that account.

    I think you should check the quantity variance and valuation variance. You can see it in inventory trail balance/valuation variance report.
