Manufacturing - Purchased Items...where used screen?

Is the a screen where you can locate where a "Purchased" inventotry item is used for various BOMs in the manufacturing module.

Note: I realize that you can select a purchased item within an existing BOM and select "Where Used", but you cannot start in the BOM Entry screen on a purchased item because you will receive the "This is not a Made Item" message.

I am looking for an easy way to locate where a purchased item is used in my BOMs.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

RE: Manufacturing - Purchased Items...where used screen?

    Folks,

The best way that I have been able to get a flexible screen showing "Where Used" for Purchadsed Items was to create a BOM...called "Where Used".

Then under that I added the Purchased items. From there...I can switch to the "Where Used" radio button and get a quick take on where my purchased items are used within my manufacturing.

What about the default Bill of Materials SmartList under the Manufacturing folder?  Just search on the "Component" field.

Try the BOM View inquiry under Manufacturing inquiry.  It will allow non-BOM users access to BOM's and not allow any changes.
