In Dynamics RMS 2.0, HQ and SO, how can i safely remove 150+ item categories that aren't being used anymore?

In Dynamics RMS 2.0. HQ and SO, how can i safely remove 150+ item categories that aren't being used?

 

via sql script to remove the categories at HQ then sync it back to the database? or? is there a proper method?

    Hi, Ray. What you want to do is a little tedious, as you have to (well you should) compare anything you want to delete to your transactions and purchases first so as not to screw up your reporting or hq syncs.

    also compare items with categories. this usually has to be done first in hq, then in the stores. you can say 'DELETE FROM Category WHERE [Name] = 'Whatever'. But make sure you have a plan first, and backup your database first!!!

    Hello Raymond,

    There is not a way to do this safely as it will cause orphaned values and may potentially damage the database.
