On Thursday 10th Sept at around 18:00 UTC our CRM Online system started sending out lots of meeting invites for old meetings that were in CRM and closed.
We are working with Microsoft Tech Support to work through the issue which is to do with Server Side Sync, but who else was affected ?

Please find the below pointers :
1. Get an overview of the plugins and workflows which are running on the Appointment entity
2. Check for the sync filters
3. Focus on one duplicate occurrence and get all the details (when it was created, in which system, when the meeting took place, when was it duplicated)
4. Get more details about the Creation Source field
Thanks for answering, however I was trying to find other customers that were affected as it is a product defect as Microsoft were running a different version of the Server Side Sync (SSS) on our tenant which caused the issue. We have since been rolled back to the previous version which has resolved the issue for now

We started getting reports of this a few weeks ago. At first we thought it was user error as we could not replicate the issue even after following the exact steps the user was performing, however, this morning we started additional testing and can now replicate the problem - 'every time an Appointment is scheduled in the past meeting invitations are being sent to those records within an email address in the 'Required' field'.
We are following this up MS Support as we'd like to know what's changed.

We have been getting unexplained behaviours around the Reschedule event being triggered in CRM and appearing in the audit trail inside CRM.
We warn our users not to change any appointment fields inside CRM that replicate to Outlook as it will resend a FUTURE meeting invite, however from our testing around a month ago it would not send invites for PAST appointments.
