How do I delete a sales order in AX?

A colleague of mine has incorrectly entered a sales order. I want to delete it, but everytime I try I receive the error "Order line must be invoiced first".

Hi R_Husba,

can you check the status of the Sales order and the sales order lines? When there are already product delivered you cannot delete the order without other actions.

If a Packing Slip has already been posted for the line you would need to Cancel or Correct that Packing Slip, you should then be able to delete the line. To do this go to the Pick and Pack tab in the Action Pane of the Sales Order form and then click the Packing Slip button under the Journals group (not the Generate group). From this form you can either Cancel or Correct the Packing Slip.

I had the same problem and still looking for solutions, i dont know there are bugs in AX 2012 R2, why a sales order falls into such a situation where we want to delete and it is not deleting. Why shall AX allow something which might cause problems during the deletion of sales ordders

Can you please tell me what are other actions, you meant, to delete a sales order if we receive the same error that 'order line must be invoiced first'

That's not a bug, it actually prevents you from corrupting data in your system. You would end up with a delivery without any order.

What do you want to do with the order? Do you want cancel the delivery, or do you want to finish the process by invoicing the order? You can delete after invoicing, if it's allowed by your setup.

Md. Yousaf,

Mr. Rob Hensley is correct. As you will deliver the item fully delete and cancel button will be greyed out. So you need to cancel the packing slip. if you have partial delivery cancel all SO.

if case of partial delivery

"You can cancel sales order lines only if the line quantity has not been processed for delivery. The sales order 0#### is partially cancelled and the status is Delivered."

I have cancelled the Packing slip completely, The status is delivered? i dont know why the status is delivered ?

now i want to delete this sales order. whenever i wanted to delete, i get the message 'sales line must be invoice first'. Why i said its a bug cause AX should not allow the users to act in a way which results in a way that you can not cancel and you can not delete the sales order

Are you saying that you've decided to cancel the delivery but you don't know how to do it? Sorry if I don't understand you precisely; you can try to provide more information next time.

I am sorry about that, but just read what i said at 07:39

i will say it again.

I have already cancelled the Packing slip, inventory has been reversed as well. but the status of the SO is still 'Delivered'. Now i want to cancel or delete this SO, i am getting an error? this is my prime issue

2ndly i want to know, that this packing slip has been fully cancelled, then why the So status is still delivered.

3rdly how can i fix it...
