Smartlist Builder - Custom Smartlist producing duplicate entries

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

Using Smartlist Builder, I created the following Smartlist:

Sales Trans History --------> (Linked by Customer Number) ME Batch Invoice_MSTR_HDR ------> (Linked by Contract Number) ME_Batch_Invoice_MSTR_DTL

I'm trying to pull Sales Records, linking it to Recurring Billing Contracts by Customer Number and Line Items on those Contracts so that I can bring billing frequency into the Sales Transaction Query.  It seems to pull duplicate records in some cases  where a Recurring Contract has more than one Line Item.  For example, if a customer has a Contract containing two line items that were both billed on the same day, it will duplicate both line items so that the customer has four line items.  Does anyone have any ideas that I can look into on why this might be the case?  Is it more likely that it is an issue with the Smartlist Design and Table Linkage, or the way I refine the query via the dropdowns in the Smartlist Query?

Thanks for your help

Collin

The way that I have done this before is the following:

    1. Link SOP30300 (Sales Transaction Amounts History) and ME50413 (ME_BIC_Invoices_LOG_DTL) on:
      • SOP30300.SOPTYPE = ME50413.DOCTYPE
      • SOP30300.SOPNUMBE = ME50413.DOCNUMBR
      • SOP30300.LNITMEQ = ME50413.LNITMSEQ
    2. Then link in ME50403 (ME_Batch_Invoice_MSTR_DTL) on:
      • ME50413.ME_Contract_Number = ME50403.ME_Contract_Number
      • ME50413.LNITMSEQ = ME50403.LNITMSEQ

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

I haven't had the chance to look at this specifically, but when it happens to me it is problem with how I've linked the tables together. You may need to link them using more than one field.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
