Is possible to change name and display name of unmanaged solution?
Step-1: Extract Solution Zip solution file
Step-2: Open "solution.xml" file with VSC or Notepad or any code text editor
                       <UniqueName>Rename Solution Name</UniqueName>
    Step-3: Save solution xml  file
Step-4 : Copy and paste Solution xml file inside original zip file and popup replace files
Step-5 : Import Solution and enjoy

How did you ZIP it exactly?

The easiest way on Windows 7, 8 or 10 is to simply drag solution.xml back into the original ZIP file in Windows Explorer.

If you're using another archiver application to create the ZIP file, perhaps it's settings change it.

Not other text change except <UniqueName>DsRelationship</UniqueName> this text in notepad++ and rezip.

    Hello,

Looks like when you re-packed the files into a ZIP file, something went wrong with the structure.

Make sure the file structure (folders and such) inside the ZIP file stays identical, don't add any extra folders, and make sure the solution.xml (and those other mentioned files) are in the root of the ZIP and not accidentally inside of a subfolder.

You can't change name of any component once it is created into CRM , you can just change display name. The only supported option to change name is to delete and recreate it.

I think we can change it. but I am not sure. try below steps.

    1. unzip managed solution.

    2. open solution.xml

    3. change solution name and display name.

    4. then zip all files and import it. I hope you will get new name in solution.

    Hello,

The Display Name of a Solution can always be changed.

The 'name' of a Solution can not be changed in a supported way.

A work-around is to export the Solution as Unmanaged, change the name in the XML and re-import it.

    1. Unpack the ZIP solution file
    2. Open 'solution.xml' in your favorite XML/text editor (Notepad is also fine)
    3. Change the 'UniqueName' value

    4. Save 'solution.xml' and load it back into the ZIP solution file
    5. Re-import the ZIP
